From “A Seat at the Table” · 4 works

This show follows me back to where it all started: abstraction. It’s the thing that got me into art. It’s where my heart is.

Diebenkorn, Matisse, Rothko, Kline, and Motherwell are on full display here, inspirations that run through this entire collection.

The visual story is how I see the world: the in-between space where our thoughts live constrained, until we free them.

I work in San Francisco, surrounded by buildings. The view from my office is beautiful and crowded: buildings that block the horizon at times, but also let me focus on the details. The geometric structures, the windows, the shadows, the fog, the horizon: all of it is here, in various facets.

None of it is direct. But I hope to show movement, time, and transition, all in one moment.
